Laravel Certification: Does It Make You a Better Developer?

Sometimes people ask if there's an official Laravel certification.

There isn't. We don't offer one, and we don't endorse any third-party certifications.

Certifications can help secure contract work or even be required in some situations. But if you're asking how to actually get good at Laravel, a certificate isn't the answer. Instead, I recommend everyone learning run through three steps:

  1. Read the documentation.
  2. Watch Laracasts and start with Laravel Learn.
  3. Build something. Start small and ship fast. Read a practical example of how you can go from zero to product with Laravel.

That's how most Laravel developers learned: by solving real problems and shipping real code. You'll learn fastest if you build apps that solve problems you personally face.

Will we ever offer or endorse a certification for Laravel? Maybe. But for now, if I were starting today, I'd skip the certificate and open my editor.
