Wildcard LetsEncrypt Certificates on Forge

Wildcard LetsEncrypt Certificates on Forge

Today we’re happy to announce support for wildcard LetsEncrypt certificates on Laravel Forge. Of course, like other certificates, these certificates will automatically be renewed by Forge.

When creating a wildcard certificate, you should list the wildcard sub-domain as well as the root domain in your domain list:

LetsEncrypt only supports the “dns-01” challenge type when issuing wildcard certificates, so you will need to provide API credentials for your DNS provider. Today, we are launching with support for three DNS providers: AWS Route 53, Cloudflare, and DigitalOcean. We will be adding more soon.

If you don’t have a Forge account, now is a great time to sign up. Forge allows you to painlessly create and manage PHP 7.2 servers which include MySQL, Redis, Memcached, and everything else you need to run robust, modern Laravel applications.
