Laravel Keeps Teams Lean. The Artisan of the Day Is Steve Beyatte.

Steve Beyatte’s career is defined by speed, efficiency, and strategic exits. With three startups successfully acquired by public companies, he has repeatedly demonstrated an ability to spot opportunities and execute on them with precision. But it was Laravel that transformed how he builds and scales projects.

Discovering Laravel and Startup Growth

Beyatte first turned to Laravel while building his third startup, Funden, a platform connecting startups with investors. Unlike his earlier ventures that required larger teams, Funden was built entirely by him using Laravel and Laravel Backpack.

The results spoke for themselves: Funden scaled to $100,000 in monthly revenue within the first 12 months and was acquired for more than seven figures just shy of two years after he created the initial Git repo. “Laravel and Laravel Backpack were amazing engines to run lean, profit-focused companies,” Beyatte explains. “With them, I could build features in a day that would take weeks for larger teams using other stacks.”

Now, with his fourth company, Press Ranger, Beyatte is applying the same formula with even greater success. The platform, designed to help brands tell their stories to the press and increase visibility across Google and AI search, is growing even faster. "I could not do this without Laravel."

The Competitive Edge of Laravel

Beyatte credits Laravel’s ecosystem for making it possible to stay lean while shipping quickly. "I talked to people using Rust, Next.js, etc, and they all move so slow,” he says. “With Laravel, I can make features in a day, and I start every project with auth, admin panel, billing: it’s not fair how fast you can move.”

Beyatte’s approach highlights Laravel’s role not just as a framework, but as a competitive advantage. While others adopt slower, more complex stacks, he focuses on speed, simplicity, and profitability, creating scalable businesses with minimal overhead and maximum impact.

“I’ve been building online since I was 12,” Beyatte reflects. “Laravel helps me move fast, not break things, and ship faster than giant engineering teams. That’s how you win.”
